At the time Lex had recently purchased a large quantity of French Oak timber from Holland. Among the packs were some very attractive pieces. He used a lot of them for commissions during the successive 12 months. Lex had a small quantity left and began to imagine a tallboy that demanded the maximum from the timber. He decided he would ‘flip’ the timbers’ grain direction and as a result, the Tiger Oak has an intrepid presence as the face of the tallboy.
